Our team

THERAPY

Aliya Amarshi, RPQ, PhD (Sociology)

My approach to therapy is warm, attentive, embodied, and supportive. Whether you are coming in with a specific challenge or are looking for overall support, I aim to provide a safe container to bring clarity, perspective, and relief. I have experience working with a number of issues, including: anxiety, depression, struggles in relationships (romantic, familial, friendships, and in the workplace), life transitions, low self-esteem, racial and immigrant identity, building better coping strategies, and healing events from the past. I will offer insights, observations, and gentle challenges when you need them. I believe that therapy should be inclusive and anti-oppressive, and I strive to embody these qualities. I welcome you to email me for a free phone consultation to see if we might be a good fit.

THERAPY, COACHING

Karina Waluk, RPQ

My approach is collaborative, supportive, and client-centred. I strive to provide open, empathic and non-judgemental support using techniques from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Gestalt, and mindfulness-meditation based therapies. During therapy we will explore emotions, thoughts, behaviours, patterns and the relationships in your life, with the intention of providing you with tools to better understand yourself and making meaningful changes in your life . My practice is centred around authenticity, curiosity, meaning-making, as well as playfulness and joy.

I have experience working with adults on topics relating to stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, self-worth/self-esteem, emotional regulation, domestic abuse, and career transitions.

Please contact me to setup a free 15-minute consultation to talk about what what you’d like to explore in therapy and to see if we are a good fit to work together.
